C. E. Byrd High School
C. E. Byrd High School, affectionately known as “The City of Byrd,” is a traditional high school with a math/science magnet component. The magnet component makes up 50 to 60 percent of our student population. Established in 1925, Byrd consistently performs as an “A” school, sending its graduates to colleges and universities across the United States as well as here in Louisiana. Our students are recognized as AP Scholars, National Merit Finalists, National Council of Teacher’s of English National Writing Award winners, and are winners of the National Colonial Dames Essay contest. Byrd prides itself on the many wonderful opportunities it has to offer students in the areas of academics, art, athletics, and membership in over 60 different clubs and organizations.
